A wonderful Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer , to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

My Life-- Sometimes I need to watch

There are times when even optomistic me has to step aside from my self doubt and frustration. And even though I will always tell you I am so blessed in my life there are days that I weap. Sometimes I have to ask God, "Why do I have to do it by myself..... All the time?"

One day I looked back through my tears at the slide that I had created, and realized that I may need to spend a little time in my photo albums. I may need to forcefeed myself what I was missing. That I do it with God! And in that knowledge look at the blessings he has provided me. I have travelled around the world, have a great daughter who ministers Bible verses to me when I am in need, I have a nice "not falling apart" home that he GAVE me, and I am in need of nothing!







So God, thank you for being my father, my dad, my love, and my friend!

Sea

So this sounds silly, but I told Brie I would let you all know about the sea turtle we saw out in the Pacific yesterday. We were about 190 ft of water and we saw the most MASSIVE sea turtle! It was the size of my CRV! We tryed fishing around it for quite awhile... To be honest we just stared at it, and could not help but be amazed at the size. When it popped its head above the water for air and sucked in a large breath of air... it was just floating baking in the sun... it makes the loudest whoosing noise like when a whale blows. Okay so I know it is fairly cheesy but I have to tell you there is something very real about being on the ocean... for one everytime you are there something reminds you to respect it. The power, how fast the weather changes.... 20 ft waves in a 20 ft boat. But also everytime I am out there I see something... some mammal, some amazing creature that I, well knew was there just never realized they were HERE so close! I pictured them in the deep deep sea, or floating around the Galapagos. Right next us out in the sea! Whales, strange dinosaur fish, massive sea turtles. I am not a tree hugger but if you can't love the dirt, remember where it all flows eventually and how close we all are in the end.

Kids are spoiled (I mean well loved). aka Brie's Birthday.

Okay so how spoiled are kids truly these days... when you tell them that you got a bike for your birthday, they answer " Is that all!"

They have boutiques just for kids! I not talking about Toys R Us... I mean really expensive, specialty stores! I am talking $500 puppies in toats, and diamond studded cell phones. Their labels say things like "I love shopping" (George W. apperantly helped them market this) so we train them early to be little Hilton's! I really like to be critical of it, because I took Brie there for her birthday and she had a GREAT time. And of course you know I can't handle not despising something that I am part of. Because the real truth is if the tiara fits, wear it. Anyway so here it is!

Brie had the most fabulous birthday party at Club Libby Lu! Her and 4 girlfriends dressed up and danced and made their own perfume.

Later we went to the Spaghetti Factory (if they say they take reservations over 10 they don't actually mean on a convenient day like Saturday). We had about 30 people there, and let me tell you this is a much better option than Chucky Cheese even if you have to wait an hour. The adults can have a glass of wine, and there are not as many screaming children, oh yeah and food is good and cheap.

I have to say I REALLY enjoyed having the whole family together!

Brie Learns to Ski!

You would not believe how great Brie was at skiing! She was up and running after an hour. Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!

By the second day up we were going down all the hills! Even advanced! Thank goodness, because I am not the most patient person sometimes, and I thought I would cry if we spent all our time on the bunny slope.

It has been great for us to spend time dedicated to together with no grief. For all of the daily whining (sorry Brie) Every day on the slope was perfect! Just a gem!









It's may not look like it but it is a long way down from here! The great thing is how incredible the weather has been this year! Clear sunny warm every single Sunday!And the snow pack is record breaking so.... it basically is not a typically year in Seattle, but no complaining here!
